Product tour

Every surface of NoteX,
one scrolling tour.

Ten stops from the first keystroke to the API. Visuals are faithful recreations of the product with sample data, not screenshots.

5minutes to read, a career of notes to organize

01 · The editor

Blocks, from a keystroke.

Type / and everything is a block away: to-dos, callouts, toggles, tables, code, columns, equations, and diagrams. Markdown shortcuts work as you type, the bubble toolbar formats selections, and multi-cursor editing comes straight from the code-editor heritage.

02 · A real page

Structure that reads like thought.

Callouts carry decisions, toggles hide detail until it is needed, tables hold facts, and equations render properly. Arabic and English mix naturally: every block sets its own direction automatically.

03 · Files you own

Your notes, visible to the operating system.

Every note is a file on your disk, small enough to email and open enough to grep. Each carries its own icon, rendered live in Windows Explorer, so a folder of notes looks like your knowledge, not a wall of clones.

04 · The sidebar

Favorites, team space, private space.

Workspace notes are shared with your team; Private notes are yours alone; Favorites keep the daily drivers on top. Drag to reorder, nest to any depth, and search across everything as you type.

05 · AI, natively

Claude and ChatGPT, inside the app.

On desktop, Claude Code and Codex install from the curated catalog and work on your notes as files. On web, the NoteX AI sidebar searches your workspace and proposes edits you approve with one click. Nothing lands on a page without your say.

AI integration

Turn this week's meeting notes into a status update for the wiki.

Drafted from Sprint 14 notes: 3 wins, 2 risks, 1 decision needed. Proposing:

06 · Databases · web

Views for the way your team thinks.

On the web workspace, any list becomes a database with table, board, calendar, timeline, and gallery views. Relations, rollups, and formulas keep numbers honest; saved views keep every team looking at their own angle of the same truth.

07 · Extensions

The catalog, curated.

Extensions install from Open VSX through a security-first allow-list: AI assistants, the PDFX toolbox with 40+ PDF tools, Mermaid diagrams, and 8 themes. Enterprises approve their own catalog.

08 · Servers

Sync where you say.

Point the desktop app at Lisan Cloud, or at your own self-hosted server, and switch between saved servers any time. Keep a Local workspace that never syncs. Multiple workspaces keep clients, teams, and personal notes cleanly apart.

09 · Notion

Bring everything with you.

Connect Notion, browse your pages inside NoteX, and import a page or the whole workspace with hierarchy intact. On web, imported pages can stay linked with two-way sync: pull their updates, push your edits back.

10 · API & MCP

Your knowledge, programmable.

A Notion-style REST API with scoped keys, and an MCP server that gives Claude, Cursor, or any agent ten tools over your workspace: search, read, create, update, trash. Your notes stop being a silo and start being infrastructure.

bash
curl -H "Authorization: Bearer nx_…" \
  https://…/notex-api/v1/search \
  -d '{"query": "deploy runbook"}'

Keys are scoped: read-only or read/write, optionally limited to chosen pages, optionally expiring. Every request is logged.

That is the tour.

The download is free and the first note takes less time than this page did.

Frequently asked questions

Which surface is this tour showing?

Both. Stops 1 to 5, 7, and 8 center on the desktop app; databases, real-time collaboration, and two-way Notion sync are web-surface features, and the API serves both. Each stop links to a page that spells out the details.

Are these screenshots?

No, they are recreations of the product's surfaces with illustrative sample data (the fictional Atlas Labs workspace), kept faithful to how the real app is laid out.

What is the quickest way to try it for real?

Download the desktop app free and write a note, or open the web workspace in your browser. Both paths are on the download page.
