Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of NoteX. By using the desktop app or the web workspace you agree to them.
The service
NoteX is a knowledge platform: a block-based note editor available as a Windows desktop app and a web workspace, with sync, shared workspaces, extensions, AI integrations, a public API, and Notion import. Features are provided as they exist at the time; we improve them continuously and may change or retire parts of the product.
Your content is yours
You own your notes, on every plan, on both surfaces. On desktop they are files on your disk in an open format. From the cloud you can export everything at any time. We act as a processor of synced data on your behalf, and we never train AI on it.
Free tier
The desktop app is free to download and use with local files. The web workspace is free to start. Team and enterprise plans are agreed directly with us.
Extensions and AI add-ons
Extensions install from the Open VSX marketplace under their own licenses, and AI add-ons connect to third-party providers under your own accounts and their terms. The curated catalog is a security measure, not an endorsement of third-party services; use of a provider is between you and that provider.
API keys
API keys act with the permissions you grant them. Keep them secret, scope them narrowly, and revoke them when unused. You are responsible for activity performed with your keys.
Acceptable use
Do not use NoteX to break the law, store or share content you have no right to, infringe others' rights, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the service or other customers' data.
AI output
AI features generate suggestions: summaries, drafts, and proposed edits that you review and apply. They are strong drafts, not guaranteed facts; review anything that will carry formal or legal weight.
Disclaimers & liability
The service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, LISAN AI - FZE is not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
